The thickness of the line depends on the number of round liners you choose (e.g. 01 very fine, 14 very thick), as well as the thickness of the individual pens. After being dipped into the ink, the liner needles allow only small amounts of ink to come out, which can then be worked into the skin. If too much ink were to come out, it would be counterproductive for fine contours!
